About

Hi there! My name is Jeff Rosenberg and I have been tutoring all levels of math class cirriculum as well as the ACT (English, Math, and Science) and SAT (English and Math) since 2003. I live on the north side of Chicago but will travel to meet students in suburbs such as Deerfield, Northbrook, Skokie, Park Ridge, Evanston, etc.  I graduated from the University of Illinois in 2001 and a received a Masters degree from Western Illinois in 2002.  In 2003 I started helping a few friends with their grad school statistics classes and that evolved into a career focused on education. I got my teaching certificate in 2004 and over the years, I have taught in a CPS high school, at the Northwestern School for Talent Development, Niles West High school, and since 2015 I have been tutoring ACT at Simon test Prep in Deerfield.

I can't stress the importance and effectiveness of one-on-one training for the ACT.  I have been able to raise students' scores in individual subjects from 1 to 11 points and up to 7 points on the overall test score.  On average, a typical student will raise their score from 3-6 points. I tutor students in the English, Math, and Science sections of the test.

Please contact me so we can come up with a personalized plan for how to help you or your student!  You may require as few as 4 sessions or as many as 20.  I will work with you to customize a plan that fits your needs.  There are no minimum or maximum number of sessions and I have a pay as you go policy.  We will reassess throughout the process and I will update you on your child's progress frequently.

I can tutor/teach your student Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Trig, PreCalc, Statistics, and of course the ACT test.

I focus on a few different methods when tutoring. My first priority is instilling confidence in the student.  This is foundational to success for the ACT and life in general.  Knowing you are capable and can do well with hard work and effort is half the battle.

My next focus is on endurance.  I give students multiple practice tests to take so that by the time the test comes they are prepared for it and know exactly what to expect.

Lastly and most importantly, I assess each student's skill level and focus on improving content knowledge, especially in areas of weakness, as much as possible before test time.  This applies to Math class work as well as the ACT.
